What this is
Insights, recommendations, tips, and tricks to help you make the best of your trip to Grand Cayman.
We’re often asked by family, friends, and colleagues who are thinking about a trip to Grand Cayman about our recommendations on where they should stay, what restaurants they should eat at, or what activities they should do. Ultimately, it never seems like there is enough time to share all of our thoughts about this amazing place, how to get there, and how to make the best of time on-island. Everything from flight schedules, car rentals, places to stay, grocery stores, restaurants, activities, beach spots, happy hours, and so much more. This blog is an attempt to share all the things we’ve learned over the years traveling to Grand Cayman. The stuff we’d discuss if we had a few hours and a bottle of wine (or two!).
For reference, we’re a family of four (my wife, two young daughters and me) and we’ve been traveling to Cayman since our daughters were babies. Therefore, much of what we’ll share are logistical tips to (hopefully) help families have a great experience. That is to say, we’re just as likely to highlight a restaurant because it has a safe place for kids to play while parents can have a drink and watch them, as we are because the food is amazing. Although, there are a lot of places on Cayman that achieve both.
Also, we like to move around and do different things during our trips. Whether going to beaches, finding new places to eat (and revisiting our favorites), or trying new spots to snorkel, Cayman is an island that is very accessible. Of course, if you want to do the resort vacation and stay by the beach and pool all day, there are a number of great options for that as well. For sure, a week at Kimpton Seafire is on my bucket list. But, I think you’d be missing out if you didn’t take some time to venture out and explore all the island has to offer.
We hope you find this information valuable and that it helps with planning your visit. We welcome any comments or questions. If you are a regular visitor to Cayman and have some recommendations for us, please share.
